Great F. Dickinson Cast Steel Warranted 1″ Corner Chisel
A fine 19th‑century Sheffield edge tool, this 1″ corner chisel bears the mark of F. Dickinson / Cast Steel Warranted, a respected but scarce maker from Sheffield’s golden era of crucible steel production. Corner chisels of this size were essential for joiners and shipwrights, designed to cut clean, square recesses with authority.
This example shows the robust proportions typical of Sheffield cast steel work. The edges will require honing to bring them back to full sharpness, and the handle appears to be a later replacement, serviceable but not original.
