Great Stanley No. 64 Lightweight Spokeshave – Proper Marked Cutter
A clean and desirable example of the Stanley No. 64 lightweight spokeshave, this model features a flat sole and a proper Stanley-marked cutter, sharp and well-seated. Measuring approximately 9″ long, the No. 64 was designed for fine work on flat and convex surfaces, making it a favorite among cabinetmakers and patternmakers.
The cast iron body is japanned and well-preserved, with crisp markings and a smooth lever cap. Unlike the heavier No. 51, the No. 64 was marketed as a lightweight alternative, ideal for manual training schools and applications requiring delicate control. Produced from 1884 onward, this model remains a staple in vintage tool collections and workshops alike.
A great user or collector-grade piece—simple, effective, and built to last.
