This gidgee 1/2″ Skewed Rebate/Rabbet Plane is used for forming and cleaning up rebates along or across the grain.

It is 225mm long x 12.5mm wide x 60mm high. Weighs 0.4 Kg and has a 3/16″ thick x 1/2″ wide Tool steel blade Rc 62-64

It has a 60 degrees blade angle with a 4 degree skew for planing.  The skewed blade provides for efficient shaving removal in long rebates, helps hold the left side of the plane into the corner of the rebate and helps to give a nice surface finish across the grain.
