Rare Type One Stanley Bailey No. 19 Block Plane – Bailey’s Patent Cutter, Early Features

A rare and highly collectible Type One Stanley Bailey No. 19 block plane, featuring several hallmark early traits. The cutter is properly marked L. Bailey’s Patent Aug. 6, 1867 and Aug. 31, 1858 exd., confirming its place among the earliest iterations of Stanley’s block plane lineage.
This example includes the distinctive H-style first lateral lever with correct markings, as well as an adjustable throat plate—importantly, without the later eccentric lever mechanism. These features place it firmly in the earliest production window and make it a standout for serious collectors of Stanley planes and patent-era tools.
