A super early Crane & Co. folding hoof hook, Newark, NJ, dating to circa 1866—a wonderfully scarce multi‑purpose farrier’s tool from the years just after the Civil War. This example has the full integral file, hammer poll, nail puller, and folding hook, all in that compact, rugged form Crane was known for. The early construction and proportions are unmistakable, and surviving examples from this period are genuinely hard to find.

A tough, well‑made, very early patented‑era piece with great character and excellent originality.
