Description
A great early Stanley No. 112 Cabinet Makers Scraper Plane, carrying the PAT. AUG. 31 ’58 patent date on the brass thumb‑nut and equipped with the low beaded front knob—both hallmark features of a true Type 1. The original Stanley iron with cut corners at the top further confirms the earliest production period.
This example has all the right early traits and presents well overall. The tote is cracked, and the iron shows pitting, but both issues are common on early 112s and can be addressed if desired. Mechanically, it remains a solid, collectible first‑type scraper plane with strong early features.
A desirable early 112 with all the correct Type 1 identifiers—honest, complete, and ready for restoration or display.
