A hard‑to‑find Wood Manufacturing Co. Patented No. 1 Spokeshave, carrying the August 10, 1875 patent date, a scarce and distinctive early American shave with the unmistakable Wood Mfg. profile. These patented No. 1 models don’t surface often, and this example shows clean lines, crisp hardware, and that characteristic compact body that makes the pattern so appealing to collectors.

It appears to have a small hang hole, almost certainly added by a user long ago. It’s neatly done, doesn’t affect the structure or function in any way, and is typical of 19th‑century shop practice.
