In Lie‑Nielsen Leather Case • Box Marked “Tapered” (Saw Is Not Marked Tapered)**
A beautifully preserved, minty example of the Lie‑Nielsen 15 PPI Rip Dovetail Saw, complete with its Lie‑Nielsen leather saw case and housed in the original box. The saw shows crisp, clean surfaces and sharp, untouched teeth—clearly a tool that has seen virtually very little use.
The box is factory‑marked “Tapered,” but the saw itself is not marked as a tapered model. This is consistent with certain production runs where boxes were printed generically while the saws were not individually stamped.
The plate is straight and bright, the brass back retains its factory sheen, and the handle shows the warm, silky finish Lie‑Nielsen is known for, with no handling wear. The leather case is equally clean—supple, well‑kept, and a perfect match for a saw in this condition.
A superb piece for the collector who values condition, completeness, and the unmistakable quality of early Lie‑Nielsen joinery saws.
