A great and uncommon 8″ example of Paquette’s Patent “Shark” Wrench, produced by the Richards Manufacturing Company of Aurora, Illinois. This mechanically complex adjustable “alligator‑style” wrench was patented January 25, 1910 by Herman A. Paquette of Chicago and assigned to Richards Mfg. Co.

The Paquette design is one of the most distinctive patented wrenches of the era, with its aggressive jaw profile and intricate adjustment mechanism. This 8″ size is the version illustrated in Schulz’s Antique & Unusual Wrenches as No. 23, making it the cataloged reference example.
