Description
A scarce Boston Wrench Company quickโadjustable wrench, built on Gagnonโs Patent of October 2, 1906, and measuring 6 3/8″ longโa compact, mechanically clever example from one of the more interesting small makers of the early 20th century.
shown in the Schulz book as No. 480
Gagnonโs patent introduced a distinctive quickโadjust mechanism that allowed the jaws to be repositioned rapidly without the slow, threaded travel of conventional adjustables. The Boston Wrench Company executed the design with their characteristic clean castings, crisp markings, and a compact, efficient form that feels surprisingly modern for its era.
This example is clean, well marked, and mechanically smoothโexactly the kind of early patented adjustable that seldom turns up in this size and condition.
