Offered here is a superb pair of Lie-Nielsen No. 98 and No. 99 Side Rabbet Planes, long discontinued and increasingly difficult to find—especially in pristine condition. knobs have some small tool box dings.

These planes were pulled from a working shop.

These left- and right-hand planes were designed for precision trimming of dados, grooves, and rabbets, making them indispensable for fine joinery work.

Crafted from stress-relieved manganese bronze with polished cherry knobs and cryogenically treated A2 steel cutters, these planes exemplify Lie-Nielsen’s commitment to quality and performance. Each plane features a skewed cutter set at 8°, a removable nose for bullnose or chisel-style use, and an adjustable depth stop for repeatable accuracy.
