Mint Rare First‑Type Veritas Tapered Tenon Cutter — Unused, In Original Box — Signed by Original Patentee

An exceptionally rare first‑type Veritas Tapered Tenon Cutter, mint, unused, and still in its original box. Very few of these early wood‑body cutters were ever produced, making them an important part of the evolution of what later became the extremely popular Veritas Power Tenon Cutter.

This example comes directly from Paul Ruhlmann, the original designer and patentee. Paul was awarded U.S. Patent No. 6,004,082 for the tenon cutter, later assigned to Lee Valley Tools. These early cutters represent the beginning of the design lineage that led to Veritas’s modern aluminum‑body production models.

Paul has offered to sign the cutter, making this an extraordinary provenance piece—something almost no collector will ever have the chance to acquire again.

A true rarity, untouched, and historically significant.
