Marked on the toe and fitted with a skewed James Cam iron, it reflects the transatlantic tool trade of the late 1700s, when Sheffield steel was prized by American and British makers alike.

• 15½” long body – classic proportions with wide flat chamfers and long turnouts
• 1¾” wide round-top James Cam iron – early Sheffield cast steel, properly marked and beautifully tapered
