Great Stanley No. 97 Cabinet Makers Chisel Plane – Stanley Rule & Level Co. Iron.

A superb example of Stanley’s specialized edge plane, the No. 97 was designed for precision trimming right up to a corner—ideal for cabinetmakers, piano builders, and fine joiners. This particular specimen is in excellent condition and features:
• Rosewood Knob: Rich color and smooth finish, no cracks or repairs
• Japanning: Approximately 93% intact, with deep black luster
• Iron: Marked “Stanley Rule & Level Co.” – a desirable early variant
• Condition Notes: A couple of tiny flea bites on the leading edge—so minor most sellers wouldn’t mention them. See close-up photos for detail.
• Dimensions: 10″ long with a 2-1/4″ wide blade, cast iron body
