A rare matched set of unused Veritas miniature planes, this duo includes the Miniature Shoulder Plane and Miniature Edge Plane—each a scaled-down, fully functional version of its full-sized counterpart, crafted with precision and charm.
🔹 Veritas Miniature Shoulder Plane
Weighing just 1.7 oz and measuring 2½” long by ¼” wide, this plane was engineered to test the limits of Veritas’s materials and design. Despite its size, it’s remarkably effective for trimming tenon shoulders, cleaning narrow dados, and fine detail work. The investment-cast stainless steel body features a fixed mouth, machined sole, and ground sides. A low 15° bed angle combined with a 25° blade bevel yields a 40° cutting angle, while the Norris-style adjuster allows precise blade control.
🔹 Veritas Miniature Edge Plane
A ⅓-scale version of Veritas’s iron edge plane, this tool excels at trimming edges and correcting proud joints. It features a stainless steel body, a fixed mouth, and a finely adjustable A2 blade. Ideal for small-scale joinery or model work, it’s a favorite among collectors and precision woodworkers alike.
Both planes are unused and come in their original packaging, making them ideal for display, gifting, or delicate bench work. Their discontinued status and limited production add to their appeal for serious collectors.
