Typical drawknives are heavy, brute-force tools used in the rough stages of green woodworking. They’re designed to hog off large chunks of stock with little concern for finesse or surface finish.

Blue Spruce Toolworks worked with  blacksmithing friends to design a drawknife that embraces the two-handed control of traditional drawknives but with a blade scaled down to a size suited for finer, more detailed shaping.

Then, we hand-forged the blade from 1095 steel, ground a 23.5° bevel on it and honed it to a razor edge.

Think of it as a favorite whittling knife, but with two-handed control instead of one.
